There is one more term similar to laser marking which is known as backlit marking.

Backlit marking on automotive refers to the process of incorporating illuminated markings, symbols, or displays on various parts of a vehicle. These markings are designed to be visible when illuminated from behind, making them easily readable in low-light or dark conditions.

The dashboard and instrument cluster of modern cars often feature backlit markings and symbols, making it easier for the driver to read important information such as speed, fuel level, engine temperature, and warning indicators during nighttime driving.
